No sé quina era l'idea de l'editor quan va decidir publicar aquest mapa The last time each European country was occupied. I encara entenc menys que algú pugui dir d'ell que "This is just a fantastic map of the last year that every country in Europe, and a handful in the Middle East, was occupied by a foreign power". En qualsevol cas, hi ha un vell llibre que sovint me ve a la memòria cada cop que veig un mapa publicat a un diari o a una revista: How to Lie with Maps.
